A Member Benefit for Next Gen Members
Peer Connections has been developed by our Next Gen Member Network Executive, to provide a platform for members to hear from industry leaders and build their professional network.
At each of our Peer Connection Events, we bring our Next Gen Members together with a General Manager, or other sector leaders, to share their leadership journey and lessons learned. We then break into smaller groups to reflect on the presentation, discuss our roles within council and get to know fellow members who are also building their careers at the Next Gen level.
Peer Connections is a free member benefit for Next Gen Members.
This session is free to all LG Professionals, NSW Next Gen members. Non-members are welcome to attend for $99. If you'd like to become a member, please contact us on 8297 1212 to discuss options.
||In this Peer Connections, we will be chatting with the General Manager of Broken Hill City Council, Jay Nankivell. Jay is a young General Manager, and it will be interesting to discuss with him his career, along with the opportunities, choices and challenges he has faced, and reflect on what we can learn from his experience. Along with our facilitator, there will be time for questions from the audience before we move into the networking portion of the session.
In every Peer Connections session, you will be paired with a new professional from around NSW, to get acquainted and build your professional network. There will be enough time for introductions and career outlines from each member of the pair during the breakout. From here the pair are welcome to continue the conversations in the following months or years, as they find useful. Like meeting a professional peer at an event, you can stay in contact as little or as much as you like, continually building on your professional network base.
