This award recognises initiatives that maximise benefits to the community, showcasing projects that develop and manage community assets. This award is divided into projects that cost over and under $1.5 million, are new and a one-off activity of a capital nature.

BORDERLESS COMMUNITIES **NEW**
People and businesses in border communities can face longstanding issues due to the regulatory, legislative and policy gaps and duplication that occurs because of different approaches to policy and service delivery between neighbouring jurisdictions. This award recognises councils who have established collaborative agreements with neighbouring jurisdictions to implement practical actions to improve social, economic, wellbeing outcomes for their community.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
This award recognises leadership in community services as evidenced by way of corporate process improvements; a particular project initiative; innovation in management and leadership practices; or demonstrated practicality and resourcefulness.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
This award recognises genuine and effective working relationships between council and community members/community groups, to provide or improve services for the benefit of the wider community.

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
This award recognises councils who promote an exceptional end-to-end customer experience by putting their customers at the heart of every process and provided interactive and friendly customer service through face-to-face and different touch points to create the highest level of customer experience. |
ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP
This award recognises dedication to sustainability as evidenced by the implementation of corporate process improvements, projects or initiatives that demonstrate significant real or potential benefit to the environment. |
FIRST NATIONS COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP **NEW**
This award is for an initiative or program implemented in conjunction with the First Nations community that has contributed towards enriching a community or municipality, delivered through an effective or innovative approach that goes beyond what the organisation has implemented previously. |
INNOVATIVE LEADERSHIP
This award recognises innovative projects/initiatives that demonstrate new ways of leading, facilitating, administering, controlling or ensuring a particular outcome is achieved, resulting in positive changes to the leadership and management of councils, processes, practices or projects. |
ORGANISATIONAL DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
This award recognises councils who acknowledge, support and celebrate diversity and inclusion in relation to internal practices and/or within the broader community context. The award celebrates understanding and respecting each other and embracing the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual whether it be in the organisational or community context. |
PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATION
This award recognises partnerships with organisations, government and/or other councils that provides new or improved services, enhances physical or social infrastructure and makes a significant contribution to the LGA.

PEOPLE, WORKPLACE, WELLBEING
This award recognises people, workplace and wellbeing initiatives that that promote a harmonious and productive workplace. Nominees should demonstrate how the program or initiative benefits both the staff and council, contributing to the council being recognised as an employer of choice in the community.

RISK MANAGEMENT
This award recognises the community and/or council benefits (strategic, operational or financial) delivered through the identification, control and mitigation of risks. These benefits will highlight the positive difference councils can make through effective enterprise decision-making around their risk management programs in the very complex local government sector.

SPECIAL PROJECT INITIATIVE
This award recognises leadership where an individual, team or council has developed a concept or practice that significantly improves the business in which they work through the development of processes or practices that has had a major impact on the organisation or its customers; demonstrates responsiveness to community, workplace or industry needs; and presents an aspirational model for NSW local government.

This award recognises initiatives and programs council provides specifically for the business community, either solely or in collaboration with others, that create positive change, underpin growth and supports their ongoing sustainability. |
