The Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (Solace) - Manchester, UK

The SOLACE Summit UK is a conference for local government and public sector professionals who want to unleash their transformational leadership potential.

Members have the opportunity to attend the Solace Summit and benefit from:

  • Over 40 speakers who are experts and leaders in their fields, covering topics such as children and families, diversity and inclusion, governance, innovation, and more.
  • Networking with international peers, sharing your challenges, successes, and best practices, and building lasting relationships.
  • Discovering new solutions and opportunities from nearly 200 exhibitors who offer products and services that can help you improve your operations and performance.

 

This is the first year we are able to offer a LG Professionals, NSW member the opportunity to attend the Solace Summit!

Scholarship Awarded: 28 June 2024

Summit Dates: 17 - 18 October 2024

Scholarship includes:

  • Return economy flights to the conference location.
  • Four night's accommodation at the conference venue
  • Assistance with introductions to councils if you would like to extend your stay post conference.

The scholarship recipient is responsible for any additional travel or accommodation requirements pre and post conference. The scholarship does not include registration for preconference seminars.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be an LG Professionals, NSW individual member for a minimum of 12 months prior to applying.
  • Applicants must be directly employed in an NSW Council.

How to apply

  • Please click on the button below to complete an online scholarship application.
  • Applications must be received by 5pm on 5 April 2024.
  • Applicants may be required to sit an interview with members of the board to complete their application.
  • Applicants will be notified of their application status by 10 May 2024.

Expectations of the recipient:

It is expected that Solace will offer a scholarship to one of their members to attend our Local Government Conference. It is expected that the scholarship recipient will:

  • Attend the Local Government Conference in August and introduce the incoming delegate to peers at the conference
  • Be available to assist the incoming delegate spending time at their council if required

The scholarship recipient will also be required to:

  • Write a report on their experience attending the Solace Summit
  • Promote the scholarship on LinkedIn whilst attending the Summit

The total value of the scholarship is capped at $7000 to include airfare and accommodation.

Delegates are required to book and pay for their own airfare and accommodation, which is re-imbursed by the association upon receipt of invoices, to a maximum of $7000.

Should delegates wish to upgrade from standard economy seats, this is at their own expense and is not eligible for re-imbursement.

Delegates should arrange for their own travel insurance.
