The ICMA Conference is an annual event organised by the International City/County Management Association, a professional and educational organisation for local government managers and administrators.

The conference aims to provide a platform for learning, networking, and sharing best practices and solutions for managing local governments in today’s complex environment. The conference features over 100 sessions, keynote speakers, exhibitors, and social events covering various topics related to local government management.

In 2024 the conference will be held in Pittsburgh and this will be the first time we offer a scholarship for an LG Professionals, NSW member to attend the conference.

Manager Exchange New Zealand

Members have the opportunity to apply for a manager exchange with Taituarā in New Zealand.

The manager exchange program, allows you to spend up to two weeks in a New Zealand council, observing and participating in their work, sharing knowledge and experience, and building lasting relationships.

You will also have the chance to explore the beautiful and diverse country of New Zealand, which has stunning natural scenery, rich cultural heritage, and friendly people.

Scholarship includes:

• Return economy flights from Sydney to the conference location in New Zealand
• Home hosted accommodation with a contact from Taituara for up to two weeks
• Registration to the Taituara Conference
• Two nights accommodation whilst attending the conference
• A program developed in collaboration with your Exchange Partner which will include visits to New Zealand councils
